Pride, and the dog that got away.

Happy LGBTQIA Pride, from the heart of the San Francisco festivities. I went to my house for the Dyke March. People came over, and dogs came over.

It was a bit much for me. However, a nice boy named Takeo gave me a lot of love until the other mother arrived.

Why would anyone pet a dog who isn’t me?

The other mother walked me home among the throngs of vomiting revelers. In the midst of the crowd, on the corner of Church & 18th, I walked straight into it: the most beautiful bacon wrapped hot dog that I have ever seen, just laying there on the sidewalk, as if waiting for me. I couldn’t believe my luck. I seized the succulent dog in my teeth and proceeded to try and eat the whole thing on the spot. I got about a third of it chewed off, but it was such a big mouthful that it kept getting in the way of my windpipe. Gobble, cough, hack, repeat. The other mother had the gall to pull me away from my luscious greasy prize. She said I had had enough. The nerve of some people.

Beautiful bacon dog

It looked just like this! Without the toothpick.

Today, I went for 2 walks, had a bath, begged shamelessly for chicken, and finally got to lick the pan!

 All mine!

The other mother made do with gintonics.

First of the evening: Gin Mare and FT Light tonic, with a squeeze of orange.

It’s other mother approved.

Second: Walter Collective and FT Bitter Lemon.

An excellent combination.

Morning faces

Cute dog pictures

I am a puppy of mystery. Some mornings I wake up with wild longings to tussle.

Woof!

Other times, I just want to crawl back into bed and be cozy.

Just let me rest please.

There’s a lot of hustle and bustle in our neighborhood today.  Stay tuned for SF Pride pictures!  While you wait, here is a wine glass votive lampshade to entertain you.

Chewies and treats from Spain

Canine ruminations, Cute dog pictures

Well, hello, dog fans. I am still here. It got pretty hot there for a while. It didn’t change my routine much. Sleep, wake, go out for a pee, writhe in the bed, eat, sleep again, follow the other mother everywhere she goes, stealth farting, go out for a walk, rest, eat, crazy dog time, nap, go out for a pee, sleep. Occasionally there is a bath thrown in.

Where do you think you’re going?

Yesterday I got a chewy and stayed in my cage for a couple of hours, whilst the other mother and family went out to do errands. I do like my cage, it is restful and smells of chewies past and present.

Treats, mosquito repellent, and fine airline swag.

We got a box of Spanish treats! I approve heartily of the chicken flavored dog treats.

Thanks, family, I miss you all. These people mean well but they are just not the same.  I do enjoy their yard, though.

In search of some good stink.

I leave my mark.

I’ve been itchy.  I have been given baths but I am still itchy.  Perhaps it’s that shedding time of year?

My hair shows up nicely against the teal sheets!

I remain adorable.  You must admit.

Cozy is as cozy does.

In other news, the other mother and the stoop father broke into the gintonics!

Refreshing!

It is gray and overcast today.  I plan on staying as bundled up as possible on my blankie.

It Takes a Village to Care For a Dog.

My first day with the other family was spent by the side of the other mother. I had a good appetite, and ate all my breakfast and dinner. Lots of teenagers came over. Everyone pitched in to take care of me. Clay and Liam took me for a walk. And Kaela gave me a bath! She noticed that I was itchy. I nibbled all day on last night’s chewy.

Hey, she offered a bath, I accepted. I am less itchy now.

I was restless early this morning, and had to rouse the other mother not once, but twice for trips out to the garden.  Today I am home with Liam and Owen and the cats.

I’m keeping my distance from that thing!

This is my comfy spot.

Helping out around the house.

I try my best to be helpful.  For example, this morning Liam had a hard time getting up.  First the other mother tried waking him.  Then the other father got involved.  Finally, the other mother called me in to action!

I think I should get a treat for my efforts, no?

Not my birthday.

Yesterday was the other father’s birthday.  It was not my birthday.  This became obvious when the other mother started filling the tub and then cornered me for a bath.  I was so dismayed that I ran away from her into Liam’s room and peed on the rug when she picked me up.

(Insert Big Lebowski joke here)

I am not having fun.

After the bath, I was very excited!  I ran around and had crazy dog time.  Here I am with a wild look in my eye.

Then we went for an outing.  This involved getting on to public transportation, namely the F Market line, for a ride downtown to the Ferry Plaza.  It was all the birthday boy’s idea.  I put up with the inconvenience with stoicism.

The wind made me shiver. The other mother wrapped me in her coat.

Later, the humans went out for Chinese food, while I rested in my crate with a chewy.  I ate the chewy in its entirety upon their return.  Better than birthday cake!
